Commissioned by the Australian Paralympians through the Tali Gallery in Sydney, Wayne was asked to do an interpretation of the team mascot Lizzy, who was presented to the Paralympic Village Mayor, Eva Loeffler, whose father Ludwig Guttmann is also considered the founder of the Paralympics movement. Several dignitaries were on hand for the ceremony, including Australia’s Governor General Quentin Bryce, sport minister Kate Lundy and Australian Paralympic Committee president Greg Hartung.
